After a weekend that was half warm and sunny, and half rainy, we are back in school for the first full week. Did you take advantage of the good weather on Saturday? Ready to get to work. Here we go!
This week in history, World War I continues. Chapters 26 (3-5) were due today or Tuesday depending on your class. World War I propaganda posters are due by Friday, September 18th. The homework assignments for this week Ch. 28 (1, 4, 5) will be due next week. Remember that part of this week's assignment is to interview three people who remember September 11th. See the assignment sheet for criteria.
In math, we will finish Chapter 3 (the review of slope and graphing) with another quiz on Friday. Students received their books today. Homework for A2 is to finish the back of the homework worksheet using pages 172 through 176 of their book.
English this week will include the write-to-text DDM, and then Animal Farm unit will begin in conjunction with World History. Some assignments during this unit will count in both academic classes.
In Biology, we will begin the unit on the Cell. Students received vocabulary words (Word Wall) and should have already written definitions. Students are encouraged to make flash cards to study for the quiz on Thursday. Extra credit on quiz if you have flashcards.
Make sure that you write down your assignments, and try to do some of your work every single night so that it all gets done. Check your schedule so your can plan accordingly--time management is skill that needs to be developed, it doesn't come automatically.
