Another weekend of snow, sleet and rain. One more week to go before vacation. Time to work hard to make up missing work and get grades up--Progress reports were given to students last Friday. Homework club is on Tuesdays and Thursdays when there are late buses. Stay there and get help from a teacher or National Honor Society students. Take advantage of math lab and writing lab. Don't make excuses--Just Do It!
English IB: Of Mice and Men ipad projects are finished, turned in and will be graded this week. Students will finish reading the book by Tuesday, answer comprehension questions and do follow-up activity, then watch the movie with Gary Sinese on Thursday and Friday before vacation.
Study Skills: More consistent effort and work completion is needed to bring up grades and get work done. Now is the time--put in solid effort this week, enjoy a couple weeks off, then push full steam til the end of the term. Mid-term exams count 10% of your yearly grade.
Academics:
Science had a test on chapter 16.1 today, and will begin learning about Atomic Theory and the scientists who contributed their ideas--Democritis, Aristotle, Dalton, Rutherford and Thomson. Read Chapter 14.1 and find out about their different ideas.
Algebra is starting perfect squares and solving quadratic equations. Easy quiz on Thursday, then activity on Friday.
History: Crusade posters are due today, and topic will shift from the Rise of Islam to The Renaissance later in the week.
Check out teacher blogs, check Aspen and see what you are missing, and make sure you put in your best work and effort this week.
Happy Holidays to one and all. Enjoy all the celebrations, relax and have fun during the two weeks off.
