TERM 2 BEGINS 11/4 - 11/8

New time, new term, new beginning. Make things happen!

Was it different waking up today? Daylight savings ended yesterday at 2 a.m. and won't start again until March 2014.  It seems so strange to have it get dark so early in the afternoon, but much nicer having the sun come up before I actually have to come to school.  Did you take advantage of the extra hour of sleep.  I know for many of you, term 1 was long and difficult.  WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO DIFFERENTLY this term???? How about taking advantage of Homework Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays in room 218.  Or, stay with one of your teachers for extra help or to make up missing work.  There are late buses to help get you home. Make the most of term 2.

EnglishOf Mice and Men continues--students will begin the vocabulary, reading and guided questions for chapter 3 this week, along with daily language packets.  In the next two weeks, students will also begin their first "Of Mice and Men" essay about their "safe spots".

Study Skills: In addition to working on assignments from the regular classroom, students will continue to develop skills relating to graphs and pictographs this month. Agenda completion was the weakest area this term--and cost the most in weekly points.  Most students are working hard to get things done in class so that they can be academically successful.  Don't be the one that is throwing points away because you didn't have your agenda, or forgot your binder, or lost your folder. Come prepared, ready to work, and bring your A game.

Report cards will be distributed on Friday,  November 8, 2013.
