Never forget all the men and women who through the years have given themselves to this country. This weekend has been a time for reflection and honor for them. May we never forget their service and sacrifice. After a long weekend, and time to remember all who served our country to protect our freedoms, it is time to settle into term 2--doing your best to "be all you can be".
If you weren't happy with your report card last Friday, make the changes now--use your agenda, study for quizzes or tests, complete your classwork and homework assignments. You are the one who can make things happen--not your teachers, your counselor or your parents. You need to be an active participant in your education, don't just let time go by.
English: Vocabulary for chapter 3, along with review of chapters 1 and 2 are now on the word wall. Daily Language for Week 4 continues this week. Chapter 3 of Of Mice and Men continues as we learn more about George and Lennie's live on the ranch during the 1930s. It is a hard life and they continue to strive for the American Dream of "livin off the fata the land".
Study Skills: Students continue to work on assignments from the regular classroom. Science is studying the Gas Laws and will be doing simulations this week. Algebra is continuing to work with exponents--multiplying and dividing rules apply. Oh, what do you do with a negative exponent when it is in the wrong place--change its address! English students should have their independent reading books in class now and should be reading every day. Of Mice and Men vocabulary quiz on Wednesday--Mrs. Weston has posted a review quizlet on her blog--check it out and study. History is dealing with the fall of Rome, along with Christianity notes during class. Check the homework assignments and make sure you have completed them all. Current Events 2-2 is due this week.
Have a good week, and stay warm! IT IS TOO EARLY FOR SNOW!!!!
