November 7 - November 11, 2016

There is no school on Friday, November 11th,  Veteran's Day--a day to remember those who have fought so that we can have freedom.  Take time to remember the sacrifices of those who served our nation and thank a Veteran.

Good Morning Red Team!  This is the beginning of term 2.  Time to push the restart button, and set new goals for term 2.  Are you happy with the way term 1 went or did you find yourself stressed at the end trying to make up work?  Are you using your agenda? With the new schedule it is a little more difficult to plan out your assignments, but if you prioritize the work for the next day first, then work on some of the assignments due the day after, you will be better prepared and more organized.  If you write down work as it is assigned, you can see when assignments are due, then you can plan out your homework routine.  Stay on top of your assignments, and stay for extra help or to do homework on Tuesdays and Thursdays when there are late buses.

This week:
ELA: To Kill A Mockingbird continues.  This week the trial of Tom Robinson will be in play format with everyone taking part. Our literary term of the week is dystopia. You should have read chapter 15 over the weekend and answered the questions on your study guide packet.

Algebra: Systems of Equations will continue.  We have been working on systems with substitution, and will move into systems with elimination. You have two problems to complete for Wednesday--#8 and 9 on the worksheet.

History: Chapter 30 sections 1 and 2 are due this week, along with the first current event for term 2.  Map of the swing states due on Thursday, 11/10/16.  For next week, choose three of the Seven Social Sins according to Gandhi and explain why you agree or disagree, and explain how Gandhi lived his words. Also, Chapter 27 (3) is due  Do some history every night so you stay caught up.

Biology: Homeostasis --keeping the body in balance  now let's see what the Integumentary and Skeletal systems do. Word wall will be completed in class on Wednesday.

No school on Tuesday due to Voting.  Make sure you participate in kids vote when your parents vote. Keep track of the swing states on your map to see how they voted.
