May 9 - May 13, 2016

Good Morning Red Team!  What do you know?  The sun is out, the birds are singing and flying around making their nests, flowers are blooming, and IT IS NOT RAINING!!!! The good weather should continue for the rest of the week--great for all the sports teams who have been practicing indoors for the past couple of weeks.  Time to get out and enjoy doing things outside.

This Friday is progress report time--Yup, that's right, Friday, the 13th!  Good for some of you, and time to wake up and get going for others of you.  The end of the year is in sight--MCAS for sophomores is next week, then senior exams, and the seniors finish May 27.  For Freshman, the MCAS Biology exams are the first week in June, a week or so to prepare for finals, then final exams and the year is over.  Now is the time to check your grades on Aspen, and get missing work made up, along with staying on top of the projects that are due in Health, ELA, etc.  This is not the time to sit back and relax.  Teachers stay after school, Homework club is in Mrs. King's room on Thursdays, and I am after school and willing to help you get organized and get projects on track and completed.

ELA:  Reading A Separate Peace and completing comprehension study guides.  Chapter 6 is due on Tuesday with the questions completed.  Research project should be annotated with your resources for all eight topics.  PowerPoint slides will start on Thursday and will be due the following Thursday, May 19th.

Algebra: Pythagorean Theorem continues.  Practice and Problem solving using the theorem.  Make sure you stay on top of your work.  Take the notes and stay focused.  You don't want to get left behind, particularly since we will be doing another project.

History:  Industrial Revolution into the times leading up the World War I.  We have been here before, and now it is time to start our review for the final push to the end.  Get reading, and complete the book assignments.

Biology:  Busy week for evolution.  Word wall quiz on the words on the back on Tuesday, and exam on Thursday.  Remember if you are going to make up the genetics test, you have to make corrections first and retake the test by Friday, May 13th.  Make those flash cards and study.

Health Project is due May 20th, and your project for Mrs. Studebaker is due NOW.

Don't forget your permission slip for the Six Flags field trip on June 11th.  First come, first served!! $50 includes park admission and coach bus transportation.  Don't miss out on a fun time.

Do not PROCRASTINATE!!!
