Halloween is over, the clocks have been turned back, and Friday is the end of term one! Term two starts next Monday and the roller coaster of days off begins. After this week there is not one complete five day week for the month of November--No school on Nov. 11; and half days on Nov. 18 and 25. Thanksgiving break starts on Nov. 25th. Make sure to stay on top of your work, it is so easy to get behind. REPORT CARDS will be distributed November 13th.
English: Started reading Of Mice and Men today, and will be finishing up Riding the Rails, and the Teenage Letter Home assignment this week. Remember to read for at least 15 minutes per night, and do your sticky notes for Literary terms--3 sticky notes per week.
History: Finishing up World War I and II this week. There is a test coming! Make sure you fill out your study guide so that you have a reference sheet for the test. Last week for make-up work, and Current Events this term.
Algebra: Systems of Equations continues---have finished with graphing two equations and finding the solution, next will be solving systems with substitution.
Biology: Test on Cell Respiration and Photosynthesis this week, and beginning a new unit--Introduction to Human Anatomy. Word Wall has been distributed. Remember if you got your test back and are not happy with the grade, take the opportunity to make CORRECTIONS AND RETAKE for a better grade.
Have a good week, work hard, and get ready to set new goals for term 2. Don't forget that Homework Club is in room 67 on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Late Buses are available on those days.
