January 27--January 31, 2014

THIRD TERM begins!!!  Second term and mid-term exams are finally over.  Time for a fresh start. If you are not happy with the way second term ended, now is the time to make changes.  Dust off your agenda, set up a study time routine at home, and plan to stay for Homework Club on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in room 218 from 2:15 until 3:00.  You can also stay with your teachers, and REMEMBER, THERE ARE LATE BUSES so make it a point to take advantage of the resources available to you.

English IB:  If you could travel back in time, where would you go? What difference would it make to our current world?   Our short story unit continues with "A Sound of Thunder" by Ray Bradbury as we go hunting for dinosaurs as we travel back in time.

Science continues to learn about the Periodic Table of Elements. After taking notes, students will write a paragraph that describes how Mendeleev proved his periodic table was useful (Tuesday), complete a scavenger hunt (Wednesday), and color their own periodic tables (Do Not Lose This!!!!).

English I Mrs. Weston: Students are revisiting and revising their "This I Believe" essay from first term.  This draft should reflect the fact that you are now 6 months into Freshman year and your perspective now.  Due Friday!!  Check Mrs. Weston's blog for more details.

History:  Check Mr. Stanton's blog for the weekly assignments about Absolute Monarchs.

Math:  Remember your weekly Connect Ed assignments!!!

Study Skills:  Look at your performance so far this year and set goals for third term!
